It was a memorable and fantastic year for the fans of the Christian movies. We have seen many films which have shocked Hollywood with its box office success. 2019 is probably another notable year for faith-based films. Here are six of the faith-based movies every Christian has been looking forward to: The Least of These (Feb 1) The movie’s release matches with the 20th anniversary of Staines’ bold action, which has made be the main act around the world. This movie is shot on a location which is India. The movie perfectly captures the power of love, hope, and forgiveness. All these together help in overcoming hate. Run the Race (Feb 22): Tim and Robby Tebow served as executive producers in this film. This Christian movie is about two high school brothers named Zach and Dave. They both are struggling to get their lives back on track followed by the death of their mother and abandonment by their father. When Zach suffers damage that sidelines his idealistic football dreams, the brothers face a disaster of trust. This movie is not a true story about the Tebow brothers. Unplanned (March 22)Abby Johnson can be said as a Planned Parenthood director who only wants to assist the women who are in need. But she gives up her job when she finds out the way Planned Parenthood is promoting it. Unplanned is a movie based on the true life of Johnson, who has now achieved to become one of the nation’s most outspoken pro-life leaders. Her views got altered when she watched an abortion doctor taking the life of a second- trimester unborn baby girl. In the words of Johnson, the baby girl was fighting for her own life. The cast of the movie includes Ashley Bratcher (90 Minutes in Heaven). She is playing the role of Johnson. Breakthrough (April 17) John Smith is a lively 14-year-old boy. He is identified around the town for his love of basketball. However, when he falls into an icy lake and is considered dead, his friends and family have a difficult time handling the faith-based questions. Breakthrough conveys and tells the inspirational true story of John and his mom named Joyce. Joyce declines to give up as she unites her Missouri town to prayer. Joyce is played by the Golden Globe nominee Chrissy Metz. DeVon Franklin is the producer of the movie. The Pilgrim’s Progress (April 18 and 20) The symbolic story got famous in the book by John Bunyan. Now, it’s hitting the theaters Easter week as an animated film. The movie is followed by a man who is named Christian as he crosses from the City of Destruction to the Celestial City. He is told to not walk alone. The promotions of the Christian movie are done by the Christian History Institute. This movie is a Fathom Event and will be there in the theaters for two days: April 18 and 20 respectively. Overcomer (Aug. 23) This is the sixth movie from the filmmaking team of Alex, Stephen and Shannon Kendrick.
The overcomer is the story of John Harrison which is played by Alex Kendrick. Mr. Harrison is a high school teacher who really adores about the high school boys’ basketball but gets forced to teach a sport he never liked: cross country. Only a 15-year-old girl named Hannah gets interested and tries for the team. This movie is like all the Kendrick Brothers movies. Overcomer has a good theme which is finding your true and real identity in Christ. John discovers his identity in his career. Hannah is a girl who has no clue about her own identity.
